The stories of the Blue and the Gray – everyday soldiers who lived (and died) in extraordinary circumstances - live on in documents and photos at Ancestry.com. With the help of a crack team of genealogists and the incredible artists at Blind and Glue Audio, we told the tale of three soldiers, connected by war and relived through records.

An interactive experience from Ancestry.com that gives meaning and context to military gravestones from the Civil War.

Created in honor of the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War, this became more than a way to search Civil War Era headstones at Ancestry.com. We worked with We Like Small in Salt Lake City to build an interactive experience that gives context about battlefields, military leaders, everyday soldiers and a conflict which changed our country forever.

See the whole experience here and search for your own Civil War ancestor.
